As part of their commitment to community service through the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), students from the DIT, BSIS, ACT, BTVTED, and DHRT programs successfully conducted the READ CONNECT GIVE Literacy and Donation Drive Program at Projekt Mariphil Foundation Inc., Hope for Children’s Village.
The outreach activity focused on promoting literacy, nurturing a love for reading, and supporting the educational development of young learners. This was carried out through storytelling sessions, guided reading activities, interactive learning experiences, and the distribution of educational materials and donated supplies.
Beyond providing learning resources, the program emphasized meaningful interaction between CWTS student volunteers and the children. These engagements created a supportive environment that encouraged learning, confidence building, and positive social connections.
The children’s active participation, enthusiasm, and joyful responses highlighted the value of community involvement and the impact of shared learning experiences. At the same time, the activity strengthened the studentsโ sense of social responsibility, empathy, and commitment to service.
The students extend their sincere appreciation to Maโam Shiela Ramirez, Event Coordinator and CWTS 2 Instructor, for her leadership, guidance, and continuous support throughout the preparation and implementation of the activity. Recognition is also given to Maโam Fretsy Glen Caรฑezo, School Librarian, and Maโam Mayraflor Durango, RIE Coordinator, for their assistance and encouragement.
Gratitude is likewise extended to Projekt Mariphil Foundation Inc., the facilitators, CWTS student volunteers from DIT, BSIS, ACT, BTVTED, and DHRT programs, donors, supporters, and the entire NTC community for their cooperation and generosity, which contributed to the success of the activity.
Through READ CONNECT GIVE, the program reinforces the importance of volunteerism and service in fostering literacy, building relationships, and promoting hope within the community.
