The course covers the fundamentals of data communications, the issues in computer network design, IT infrastructure and the study of how protocols facilitate the communication among the components of the network. It also includes basic electronics concepts, which are essential in the understanding of computer and data communication networks.


By the end of the course, students should be able to: 

1. Analyze the security and business continuity implications of IT infrastructure design solutions by conceptualizing a case report on best practices by organizations. 

2. Design an IT Infrastructure and operations plan for a small organization, including a network based on standard technology components, servers, security devices, and several different types of computing clients through business IT infrastructure and network technologies analysis.
