Northlink Holds Interactive Career Guidance and Strand Exploration Activity

The institution successfully conducted the Career Guidance and Program Exploration for Incoming Grade 11 Students on campus today from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Anchored on the theme, “Empowering Learners through Career Pathways and Alumni Connections,” the activity gathered incoming Grade 11 learners to help them gain a better understanding of the different Senior High School strands and the career opportunities connected to them. The program was organized through the collaborative efforts of the Guidance Office and the Community Extension Office, together with Senior High School alumni who served as guest speakers and facilitators.

The program began with the registration of participants and the presentation of an institutional documentary featuring student life, academic offerings, and opportunities available within the school community. During the Career Guidance Session, Ma’am Jill Irish Albit introduced the various SHS tracks and clusters offered by the institution. She encouraged learners to carefully consider their interests, strengths, and future goals in choosing a strand that best suits them. Students were also given the opportunity to raise questions and seek advice during an open forum on strand selection and career planning.

The highlight of the activity was the cluster-based immersion sessions, where learners were grouped according to their preferred fields of interest. Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, participants were able to experience learning environments related to their chosen career paths. Jean Jewel A. Castor led the ASSH Cluster session, “Speak. Influence. Lead.” which focused on leadership, communication, and social awareness. In the Business and Entrepreneurship Cluster, Guia Sullera facilitated “From Idea to Income,” introducing students to entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and financial literacy. Meanwhile, Ma’am Rizza Cawas guided the STEM Cluster through “Innovate to Solve,” allowing learners to explore activities that enhanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

Students with interests in arts and design joined the Creative Arts and Design Technologies Cluster facilitated by Cahrel Tajolosa through the session “Create. Design. Express.” The activity encouraged creativity and self-expression through design and visual communication exercises. Learners who explored the ICT Support and Programming Technologies Cluster under Vincent Mark B. Valiente gained insights into programming, digital systems, and emerging technologies through the session “Tech That Solves.” In the Hospitality and Tourism Cluster, Rolly Baring introduced students to the fundamentals of hospitality, customer service, teamwork, and professionalism through “Service Excellence in Action.”

The program concluded with the presentation of outputs, recognition of participants, and closing messages from facilitators and organizers. Enrollment assistance was also provided for learners seeking guidance on admission and strand enrollment procedures. Participants described the activity as an important step in helping them make informed decisions about their academic and career paths while strengthening their confidence as future Senior High School learners.
