The Newslink Club successfully conducted a two-day Campus Journalism Seminar-Workshop on March 12–13, 2026, bringing together selected Grade 11 students to enhance their skills in various fields of campus journalism.
The seminar-workshop featured resource speakers from the Senior High School faculty of Northlink Technological College, namely Ms. Mayraflor L. Durango, Ms. Rhea Mae C. Senajon, Ms. Sofea G. Bautista, Ms. Shiela S. Ramirez, Ms. Annie Jean M. Pogata, Ms. Jenelyn M. Gomayao, Ms. Reynaliz D. Gomez, Mr. Mark-an C. Pogata, Ms. Chesska Mae A. Cavan and Ms. Malouh D. Asumbrado. The speakers shared their expertise through lectures and hands-on workshops covering headline writing, column writing, editorial writing, editorial cartooning, photojournalism, news writing, feature writing, sports writing, and copyreading.
To cater to both language categories, sessions were held in two venues: La Taza Hall for the English category and Annex Room 102 for the Filipino category. Participants actively engaged in workshop activities where they applied the concepts and techniques discussed during the sessions.
The activity concluded with an awarding ceremony held at La Taza Hall, where participants received Certificates of Participation. The speakers were also honored with Certificates of Recognition for their valuable contributions to the seminar. In addition, Best in Writing awards were presented to outstanding participants in each category of article writing.
The ceremony also marked the official announcement of the newly selected members of the Newslink Club for the School Year 2026–2027, recognizing students who demonstrated excellence and potential in campus journalism.
The seminar-workshop served as an avenue for aspiring student journalists to develop their writing skills, critical thinking, and appreciation for responsible journalism within the school community.
